Putrajaya Holdings tasked to develop Tronoh Laketown Resort

IPOH, March 22 — Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd is expected to begin construction work on the multi-billion ringgit Tronoh Laketown Resort, near here, anytime soon, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir (picture).

He said the new township facing Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) in Tronoh would cover 400 hectares of land.

“It is a matter of time before Putrajaya Holdings builds an impressive township for the area which will allow local and international students to study in a conducive environment.

“It will also be a catalyst for Perak’s efforts to turn Tronoh and Seri Iskandar as a new development area and education hub in the state,” he said after a working visit to the Darul Ridzuan Institute (IDR), here, today.

He said besides UTP, other educational institutions such as Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and Mara Professional College are also located in the area.

Zambry also said the state government had identified several areas in Hulu Perak, Bagan Datoh, Lembah Beriah near Kerian and Gua Tempurung, near here, as new development areas in line with Perak’s aim of becoming developed state in the future.

It

When it happened
the feeling is so fine
It could make you smile
It could make you blind

It fills your heart
with joy and wonder
Each time you feel it
your heart beats faster

It is mysterious
and full of riddles
If you could solve it
you’ll surely giggle

When you’re ready for it
make sure he’s an honest man
A man whom when you’re wary
will always lend you a hand

You’ll never miss it
You will take part
When you’re in it
you’ll never be apart

OBS Experience Part 1

Sunday, June 21, 2009

it's been a few days after I came back from OBS but the experience I had there, I would never forget. I was sent there to attend the leadership development program for petronas scholars. I am in the petronas scholar 3/2009 batch.

actually, before I went there, I've already have a brief idea of how the place was and what activity I'm supposed to do because my brother has been there twice. I was thrilled and excited but was a bit nervous too.

in front of gym hall

Day 1 :: 11 June 2009

I arrived at utp as early as 6 am. the bus will pick us up to obs at 12 pm. I scratch my head not knowing what to do. haih. after perfroming my subuh prayer, I went to our house. luckily it's not locked, so i went into my room and sleep. at 10 something I woke up, eat my breakfast and wait for the bus. it came at 12 pm and after settling everything, we started our journey to Outward Bound Malaysia in Lumut. we arrived there at 1 something with everyone looking so nervous and hungry! after everyone's there, we were devided into watches. I got into watch Korbu with other 13 team members from not just utp but uitm and utm too. our instructor is M.J. who is indeed a great and funny guy.

on the first day, there's not much physical activities. after eating our lunch, we need to surrender our handphones, wallet, money, id and our electronic items because we nee to get back to basic where all this stuff does not exist. I stayed in Irau dorm with ulu sepat and my watch members. to get to the dorm, I need to go up 106 stairs!

Day 2 :: 12 June 2009

we woke up very early and gathered in front of the gym hall to sing negaraku. korbu, ulu sepat and camah was in the same group which is group 1. after breakfast, we learn to do knotting and then go to the sea for our water confidence. we were asked to put on our life jackets and float in the water. then, group 1 was thought about whalling while group 2 learned about kayaking.

whaler

that was my first time on a whaler and yes, it is not easy to navigate a whaler. synchronization is very important, if not, you can paddle for hours with your team members but the whaler wouldn't go anywhere.

"dip, pullllll, up"
"dip, pullllll, up"
"dip, pullllll, up"

Day 3 :: 13 June 2009

on the 3rd day, we begin our expedition, whalling to pantai syawal. at first, the weather was okay and our whalling was smooth. we whalled untill noon and stop for awhile to have our lunch. after lunch, we continued our journey. but at that time, everyone was already tired. luckily there's wind, so we sailed. in the afternoon, the weather suddenly turns bad so for safety reasons, all whalers was towed. after a day of whalling, getting towed was indeed great too. haha.

this is NOT pantai syawal

as soon as we arrived at pantai syawal, we need to set up our tent and start cooking for our dinner. pantai syawal is not a good camping site. huhu. there is no much place for you to set up your tent and there are only two wells for you to clean yourself up. more unfortunately for us, it was raining bad that night, so we slept in water. camping there was really back to basic.

Day 4 :: 14 June 2009

we whalled back to obs in the morning today. somehow, my leg was swollen. on the way back, there were some funny incidents which I shouldn't mention here that I will never forget (i believe fellow Korbu know what I'm talking about. haha). as soon as we arrived at obs, we cleaned our stuff and prepared for the kayak lesson in the afternoon.

during the kayak lesson, everyone looked very tired. we did another water confidence test where our kayak is overturned. kayaking was easier and much lighter than whalling. we each got a partner and my partner was paklah (not the prime minister eyh). after dinner, I was brought to the clinic outside obs. the doctor wanted to cut my carbuncle but because i need to go camping the next day, he decided to give me medicine only.

eyh.. gotta go.. wait for part 2 eyh..

song virus

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

haha. well friends, don't blame me eyh. please!! haha. well, yes that song is from me. but ila send the virus to all of you. so blame her, not me. haha. that song was just too cheer her coz she was soo "tensed" not knowing what to study for SE paper tomorrow. she was really tensed you know, until there's tear in here eyes, all for the sake of Prof. Jubair. haha.

and as requested by che nah, I will mention her name here. I send that song to her too, to celebrate her joy coz she was sooo happy chatting in gtalk. after finishing a bowl of bihun tomyam, she was so generous to share her bihun tomyam through gtalk. haha. I know you understand what I mean right, che nah??

che nah and ila singing "kenangankuuuuu"

p/s: to all my friends who got the song virus, sorry if it spoiled your day or add to your tense. we just want to see a smile on you faces. gud luck for tomorrow!! last paper weyh!!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

"Understanding proves intelligence, not the speed of the learning"

and it got me thinking and nodding at how true it is.

"Better late than never, but better never late."

- A chinese proverb-

I've heard and always use the saying better late than never. but I never knew there was a continuation to it. haha.

back from the dead

Saturday, April 25, 2009

woahh! it's been a long time since my last post. I'm damn busy this semester plus the suckish internet connection in UTP, I couldn't update my blog frequent. next week is the last week for this semester before the study week and exam week. can't wait for the semester break. my head's about to explode. even though, next week is the last week, it is sure to be a hectic one. on monday, i need to upload my not-yet-done IP project plus I have AI presentation. on tuesday, I have DCN presentation, IP test and SE presentation and project submission on wednesday, HCI presentation and project submission plus SBE case study submission on thursday! crazy right?? luckily friday is a holiday.

even with all the workloads, I still managed to enjoy myself. I went to school this morning. they were having georgian fiesta today. it's sort of like a canteen day where classes sells food and we have concerts and stuff. I arrived at school with my handsome lil bro and cute lil sis at about 11 am. Walked here and there reminiscing my good old school days. the school have changed a lot. there was this new cafeteria like place in between the canteen and the class. the chairs and table in the canteen have changed too. and there is no longer 4 and 5 Vokasional. it seems that now there are 2 vocational classes so they stick to the name Topaz and Zamrud. quite sad though, cause I can still remember how proud these vocational students say that they're from 4 or 5 Vogue.

my first batch mate that I saw was Bawang. she still looks the same, still trendy but still short. haha. sorry ek Bawang. then I saw Mellisa and some of her friends. when I went to the canteen, I saw Zera! she's with M. she looks quite the same too, except that she got slimmer and looked more matured I guess. but inside, she's still the same person. my lil sis wanted to ride the horse, so I brought her there. that's when I saw Sharmeen and Zoe! they saw me and they scream my name, like the good old days. I ask my lil bro to look after my lil sis and when chit chatting with them. we talked a lot liked we never left school. Sharmeen still looks fabulous and still the drama queen we used to know. Zoe looked beautiful too. Oh, how I miss my school days.

I met a lot of my teachers too. they advised me to study hard and make georgian's proud. I definitely will! huhu. I left the school at about 2.30pm after I burned my RM30, but with a big smile on my face and thousands of memories I won't forget.

one great party!! yeah!!

Tuesday, February 03, 2009

it's che nah's birthday today. she's 20, and old. hehe. we throwed a party for her, and yeah! it rocks! Let's let these pictures speaks for themselves okay?

Alhamdulillah!

Friday, January 09, 2009

I've just checked my result. and phew! thanks to Allah S.W.T, I got an ok result. Alhamdulillah. it's not what I expected actually. I thought I'm going to screw up because of all the things that had happen to me during the final exam. I blanked during one of the papers, I found most of my papers are hard, and a pair of my favourite shoes was stolen which causes me a few hours of emotional wreck.

it's true they say that everything happen for a reason. even thought my result is slightly lower than last semester, I'm still very thankful and satisfied with what I got. let last semester be a lesson to me and hopefully I'll get better gpa this time. I would like to thank those who had supported me, my mom and dad for their endless prayers, my grandparents, as well as all my teachers and friends. I'll keep up the good work. Insyaallah.

aut viam inveniam aut faciam

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Aut viam inveniam aut faciam is a Latin motto that if were directly translated would mean, ‘I will either find a way or make one’. Generally, the motto is expressing that if there’s a will, there’s always a way. I’ve been holding to this motto for a long time. Coincidently, it’s also my school’s motto.

Why I hold on to such motto? Well, I believe, will is a very strong word. When you have a will, if Allah allows it, nothing could stand on your way. When doing something, will is very important. If you need to study for your exam but you hesitate, you will find many ways to not study. But if you have the will for it, nothing could distract you from doing it. Even if you came from a poor family and couldn’t afford to buy books, with the will you have, you wouldn’t mind going to the library to borrow some books for you studies.

Someone who is handicapped could do the same thing that the normal people do. If they don’t have any hands, the paint with their legs. If they don’t have any legs, they walk using their wheelchairs. If they don’t have any eyes, they see with their hearts. They play sports, they become people’s friend, they do craftwork, they do basically whatever we’re doing. And what do you think helps them overcome their weaknesses? It’s their will. Their will to be normal, to do things they’ve always wanted to do. And what we should have is the will to help them.

When you have the will, there’s also no room for giving up. People who are really willing and determined in doing something would never give up. They will find all the possible ways so that they can succeed in what they’re doing. Cause if there’s a will, there’s always a way. And when they have tried they’re very best, the outcome doesn’t matter anymore. Cause if they succeed, congratulations! But if they don’t, they’ll always try again.

By holding on to this motto, I have done much in improving myself. I like to do charity works, cause I like to put a smile on someone’s faces. There’s one time, I joined an event organized by my university. It’s a homestay program where we live with the villagers and help them with their daily chores that was held during the past Ramadan. I’m a city kid who’s very close to my family. I couldn’t stand being far apart from my family for so long. But for this event, I had to come back early, and can’t go home for more than a month (which is a long time for me as I usually go home every two weeks or so). But with the will I have to join this event, I put all of these aside. And it went well. I really enjoyed the event and never regret my decision.

Remember that I’ve told you about how bad I wanted the DVD that I’ve been looking for so long? I’ve been trying to buy it since a few years ago but I’ve never found it in the DVD stores. But my will to have the DVD is so strong, I didn’t given up looking for it till know. And hey, I’m only a few steps away from obtaining it. I took the barcode from a local DVD store website and Linkgave it to the store’s worker. And he’ll order it for me. Yeay! I just don’t know why I haven’t thought of it before this. Huh!

Then again, aut viam inveniam aut faciam. If there’s a will, there’s always a way. Till then. Tata!
