random words

Thursday, December 10, 2009

i was browsing through some of the blogs in my blog list today and i stumble upon these words. it was from my junior, Fatin's blog. what it says is totally true. we often waste our time trying to impress people who don't even bother listening to us whilst forgetting those that makes us happy. living and loving those that makes us happy is indeed the best thing to do. however, don't just let them make you happy, but you make them happy too!

p/s: fatin, kami curi words ni dari blog ampa. hope it's okay. klau kena bayar, sruh amie setelkan eyh. thanks. =p

new moon

Friday, November 27, 2009

watched new moon with a bunch of my friends yesterday. the movie was okay. a bit slow compared to twilight though. but still okay. I don't wanna do any review here because I know that many of you would want to go and watch it yourself. by the way, today is eid adha, a day to remember the sacrifice made by ibrahim A.S. in the path of Allah S.W.T. So, I'd like to wish you happy eid adha and may you have a great time with the family.

It

It

When it happened
the feeling is so fine
It could make you smile
It could make you blind

It fills your heart
with joy and wonder
Each time you feel it
your heart beats faster

It is mysterious
and full of riddles
If you could solve it
you’ll surely giggle

When you’re ready for it
make sure he’s an honest man
A man whom when you’re wary
will always lend you a hand

You’ll never miss it
You will take part
When you’re in it
you’ll never be apart

(“It” refers to “Love”)

what i like about the festive season

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

1. All the family members will be home and we'll be together. =)

2. Balik kampung! Yeay! Can meet all my crazy cousins and do our crazy projects. And gossipping, and camwhoring and 'uno'ing and make one hell of a mess.

3. Raya songs will be played on the radio and we will sing together all the way to our kampung.

4. Eat! There'll be 7 to 8 meals a day. Pre breakfast, breakfast, pre lunch, lunch, in between lunch and tea, tea, pre dinner, dinner, supper.

5. There'll be food that we rarely find during other days like lemang, rendang ketupat, kuih raya etc.

6. Collect duit raya! (Yup! I still get duit raya from the family!)

7. Shopping! This is the time to buy new clothes etc. Reason --> it's raya what, must look good.

8. Visiting neighbours, friends etc. This is the time where we streghten our relationship, the chance to meet those that we have not meet for a long time.

9. Open houses. Get to eat some more and meet friends.

10. This is also the time when we can ask for forgiveness from each other, especially to our parents without them asking "Ha, ape zareen da buat?" or "Zareen ok ke?". Haha.

Can't wait! Only a few days more!

penang to get water taxi

Friday, July 17, 2009

yesterday I went back home. instead of taking a bus straight from ipoh to sungai nibong on the island, I took a bus to butterworth which is on the mainland. after about a month of holiday, I went to butterworth to see that the bus station was new. the was a proper place for the hawker stalls, there were clean toilets, surau and comfortable chairs for passengers to seat while waiting for their bus. I walk towards the jetty to catch a ferry. usually you'll need to walk up the stairs to the jetty but now, they have escalators. yeay!

I paid RM 1.20 for adult ticket (RM 0.60 for children) and waited only about 10 minutes for the ferry to arrive. it was nice being in the ferry, breathing the fresh sea breeze. the scenery was also very beautiful. you can see clearly the Penang bridge and also Komtar. too bad I didn't have my camera with me.

then I came to know about the water taxi. it is said that this RM 50 million project have been approve by our Prime Minister. it will be implemented in stages before the end of the Ninth Malaysia Plan in 2010. the taxi will connect the mainland and the island and may resolved the traffic congestion on the Penang bridge. I'll surely have a ride when it's implemented.

p/s: wanted to explore Penang, embrace its heritage and enjoy its delicacies. wanna join?

back from the dead

Saturday, April 25, 2009

woahh! it's been a long time since my last post. I'm damn busy this semester plus the suckish internet connection in UTP, I couldn't update my blog frequent. next week is the last week for this semester before the study week and exam week. can't wait for the semester break. my head's about to explode. even though, next week is the last week, it is sure to be a hectic one. on monday, i need to upload my not-yet-done IP project plus I have AI presentation. on tuesday, I have DCN presentation, IP test and SE presentation and project submission on wednesday, HCI presentation and project submission plus SBE case study submission on thursday! crazy right?? luckily friday is a holiday.

even with all the workloads, I still managed to enjoy myself. I went to school this morning. they were having georgian fiesta today. it's sort of like a canteen day where classes sells food and we have concerts and stuff. I arrived at school with my handsome lil bro and cute lil sis at about 11 am. Walked here and there reminiscing my good old school days. the school have changed a lot. there was this new cafeteria like place in between the canteen and the class. the chairs and table in the canteen have changed too. and there is no longer 4 and 5 Vokasional. it seems that now there are 2 vocational classes so they stick to the name Topaz and Zamrud. quite sad though, cause I can still remember how proud these vocational students say that they're from 4 or 5 Vogue.

my first batch mate that I saw was Bawang. she still looks the same, still trendy but still short. haha. sorry ek Bawang. then I saw Mellisa and some of her friends. when I went to the canteen, I saw Zera! she's with M. she looks quite the same too, except that she got slimmer and looked more matured I guess. but inside, she's still the same person. my lil sis wanted to ride the horse, so I brought her there. that's when I saw Sharmeen and Zoe! they saw me and they scream my name, like the good old days. I ask my lil bro to look after my lil sis and when chit chatting with them. we talked a lot liked we never left school. Sharmeen still looks fabulous and still the drama queen we used to know. Zoe looked beautiful too. Oh, how I miss my school days.

I met a lot of my teachers too. they advised me to study hard and make georgian's proud. I definitely will! huhu. I left the school at about 2.30pm after I burned my RM30, but with a big smile on my face and thousands of memories I won't forget.

T-Bowl Concept Restaurant

Monday, February 09, 2009

I've always wanted to share this with u guys. there's this one interesting place called the T-Bowl Concept Restaurant beside GCS in Queensbay Mall, Penang. This restaurant's furniture is all made of toilet bowls and other toilet equipments, i.e. toilet bowls for the chairs, bathtubs for the tables. it's creative on one end but gross on the other. how's the food? I don't know cause it's non-halal. u try and then tell me k? more info here.

baked rice

seafood tomyam

after doing some research on the net, I found that this restaurant follows the concept of Taiwan's modern toilet restaurant which is far more gross cause even the food resembles shit!

aut viam inveniam aut faciam

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Aut viam inveniam aut faciam is a Latin motto that if were directly translated would mean, ‘I will either find a way or make one’. Generally, the motto is expressing that if there’s a will, there’s always a way. I’ve been holding to this motto for a long time. Coincidently, it’s also my school’s motto.

Why I hold on to such motto? Well, I believe, will is a very strong word. When you have a will, if Allah allows it, nothing could stand on your way. When doing something, will is very important. If you need to study for your exam but you hesitate, you will find many ways to not study. But if you have the will for it, nothing could distract you from doing it. Even if you came from a poor family and couldn’t afford to buy books, with the will you have, you wouldn’t mind going to the library to borrow some books for you studies.

Someone who is handicapped could do the same thing that the normal people do. If they don’t have any hands, the paint with their legs. If they don’t have any legs, they walk using their wheelchairs. If they don’t have any eyes, they see with their hearts. They play sports, they become people’s friend, they do craftwork, they do basically whatever we’re doing. And what do you think helps them overcome their weaknesses? It’s their will. Their will to be normal, to do things they’ve always wanted to do. And what we should have is the will to help them.

When you have the will, there’s also no room for giving up. People who are really willing and determined in doing something would never give up. They will find all the possible ways so that they can succeed in what they’re doing. Cause if there’s a will, there’s always a way. And when they have tried they’re very best, the outcome doesn’t matter anymore. Cause if they succeed, congratulations! But if they don’t, they’ll always try again.

By holding on to this motto, I have done much in improving myself. I like to do charity works, cause I like to put a smile on someone’s faces. There’s one time, I joined an event organized by my university. It’s a homestay program where we live with the villagers and help them with their daily chores that was held during the past Ramadan. I’m a city kid who’s very close to my family. I couldn’t stand being far apart from my family for so long. But for this event, I had to come back early, and can’t go home for more than a month (which is a long time for me as I usually go home every two weeks or so). But with the will I have to join this event, I put all of these aside. And it went well. I really enjoyed the event and never regret my decision.

Remember that I’ve told you about how bad I wanted the DVD that I’ve been looking for so long? I’ve been trying to buy it since a few years ago but I’ve never found it in the DVD stores. But my will to have the DVD is so strong, I didn’t given up looking for it till know. And hey, I’m only a few steps away from obtaining it. I took the barcode from a local DVD store website and Linkgave it to the store’s worker. And he’ll order it for me. Yeay! I just don’t know why I haven’t thought of it before this. Huh!

Then again, aut viam inveniam aut faciam. If there’s a will, there’s always a way. Till then. Tata!

what a lousy trip!

Saturday, October 25, 2008

yesterday I came back from utp. wanna know how the journey was? damn lousy! I wake up early yesterday with hopes to arrive home early. after taking my bath and everything, Ila and I started our journey home. her bus is at 9.00am in Taman Maju. so, she and her boyfriend left me at the bus stop at about 8.30am. a bus came a short while after they drop me. but the bus refuse to stop! I had no choice as I'm not capable of chasing the bus, so I just wait for the next bus to come.

about 20 minutes later, another bus came. I went up the bus and payed the driver RM3 which is the usual price from utp to Medan Kidd. he showed me four fingers which I believed meant to say that I'm supposed to pay RM4. I was using my mp3 at that time, so I can't really hear what he's saying. I just grab a seat and turn off my mp3. the driver just rambles about money and something. at another stop, 2 men came up and they were charged RM5! we are going to the same place, yet we pay different amount! what a liar.

At about 9.20am, I arrived in Medan Kidd. I search for the Medan Gopeng bus to get to the bus station. Another guy from the same bus was doing the same. we went to a bus and ask the co-driver, "Uncle, bus ni pegi Medan Gopeng ke?" ("Uncle, does this bus go to Medan Gopeng?")

Uncle: "Ada pegi, ada pegi. Lai, mari naik" ("Yup, it does. Come up")

So, we grab a seat and payed they uncle RM1. Halfway through the journey, the uncle came to us.

Uncle:"Medan Gopeng ka? Aiya. Tadak pegi ar Medan Gopeng" ("Medan Gopeng is it? Aiya. We're not going to Medan Gopeng")

Guy: "Amacam ni uncle? Tadi kata pegi?" ("How come? Just now you said we're going?")

Uncle: "Aiya. Wa tersilap la. Takpa, you turun sini, you jalan depan sikit saja. Nanti you belok kanan dekat itu trafic light. Ada bus stop. Itu super kinta punya. Ha turun skarang."(Aiya. My fault. Never mind, you go down here, walk a bit and turn right when you see a traffic light. There's a bus stop at super kinta. Ha, go down now.")

so both of us got down, feeling stupid. we got to know each other though. he is studying in uitm going back to kl. we talked about how we were cheated from the first bus until now. he also told me that he even payed RM4 to the first bus driver! after walking quite far, we still can't see the traffic light. we decided to ask around. we had to ask twice before we got to the bus stop and it's damn far and I'm carrying a very heavy bag. luckily there's a bus going to Medan Gopeng about to depart.

payed another RM1.10 and we arrived safely at about 10.10 am. we laughed about what happened and went to buy our ticket. I bought the 10.30 am ticket and waited. Luck is not with me, the bus only came at 11 am! I had a long chat with an auntie going to Seremban while waiting for the bus. she was telling about how hard it is when students in boarding school is not allowed to bring hand phones. I got on the bus and fell asleep.

mama called at about 12.30pm to ask me where I am because she have an open house to go to. I said I'm in sungai bakap, which means that I'll be in Penang in about another half an hour or 45 minutes. however, the bus change its route and went to Penang first before Butterworth. So, I arrived in Penang in only about 15 minutes. Called mama and she told me she's already in front of the house. I had to wait as she turn back to fetch me. Luckily, I get to eat a lot at the open house. Haih! What a journey.

SGGS...where it all started

here's a video I made specially for all georgians to view. other's are free to view too. ::smilling::

should i be sick?

Monday, August 18, 2008

tonight, I have runny nose, a headache, and a sore throat. I felt fatigued all over my body, and only wanted to sleep. suddenly, I was reminded of this infamous quote by a senior of mine.

' You are sick, only if you say you are'
- Reenee Atira Mohd Shree

she meant that if you are sick and treat yourself like you're sick, i.e lying around doing nothing, sleeping 24 hours, being weak all the time, etc, then you are going to be really sick. but if you're sick but you act normally, you brace yourself to do normal stuff that you do when your not sick, then in no time, you'll be okay. these saying has been used long among me and my friends in sggs so that we wouldn't be so weak each time we're sick.

what my senior said might be true. I knew a guy who is physically challenge but never admitted defeat. he wasn't normal, but he never reacted weak and doesn't like people to sympathized him. he's a university student now and is as successful as other normal people. I bet if he take he's disability as a barrier and decided to stay weak and do nothing about it, he wouldn't be this successful. ermm so, should I say I'm sick now? or maybe i'll say I'm not well but not sick either. ::smilling::
